Fried glasswort and really good whipped cod - PLUS insider thoughts on imported seafood in Venice
Welcome to Dash of Prosecco, a newsletter dedicated to good food, slow travel, and life on the Venetian mainland.
There’s a new restaurant in Venice I’d love to tell you about. However, as I’m trying to be mindful with travel recommendations (aka “responsible sharing”), I’m making this post available to paid subscribers only. Some might see this as gatekeeping, but for fragile cities like Venice, I'd rather be cautious than sorry.

Last night we popped into Venice for a special dinner. My dear friend and former colleague Igor now works as a chef near Strada Nuova, where I used to attend classes during my early university days. It's a busy area (one of the busiest in Venice), but the restaurant is tucked away, into a small calle, giving it a unique intimacy.
