I'm SO sorry it took me so long to comment, but this is a good example why I have so much appreciation for your writing and your vision.
There are so many of us who post/blog about Venice. But for understandable reasons, the focus is almost always on the six central sestiere.
But it's important to remember that Vivaldi, Bellini, Barbara Strozzi and all the doges would have starved without sourcing sustenance from the wider Veneto region, and the Terra Ferma possessions in general!
There are so many lovely things in this post – a real treat for my Monday morning. And particularly heartwarming to see a shout out for Kitty Tait – I used to live in the same village as her and swell as being an amazing baker, she's such a fantastic human being!
Hi Lizzie, thank you so much for reading the post. Big fan of Kitty here, have you read her book, "Breadsong"? Quite jealous you got to try her fantastic baking 😉
I'm definitely checking out the new T. Chevalier book. Thanks for the tip. I'm so obsessed with colored glass and glass blowing. Thanks, Sinù! Looking like you are enjoying the summer to the max
It's already available in the US and UK but we'll have to wait until mid September for the release in Italy! Sounds intriguing right? I'm a sucker for blown glass, too :)
(Welcome back, hope you have a great start to this new week and month!)
A lovely post which transported me to the sights and sounds and of course the tastes of Venice!
Happy Friday, Sinù!
